According to Dr. Ian Hoffman, knowing which foods damage the nervous system
is a new approach to determining which foods are the culprits that should be
avoided the most. If you want to have as healthy a functioning nervous
system as possible; in addition to regular chiropractic care, these are the
top 10 foods to avoid:
_#1 Hydrogenated Oils (Trans fats/ artificial fats)_
It has been known by the food industry for over forty years that trans fats
are extremely unhealthy. Hydrogenated oils lead to systemic inflammation,
cancer, heart disease, hardening of the arteries and hormone imbalances.
These oils are man made, very similar in composition to plastic, and block
the absorption of vitamins A, D, E, K, and the healthy essential fatty acids
_#2 Artificial Sweeteners (Aspartame, Splenda, and Sweet & Low)
All should be avoided. Aspartame, the active ingredient in NutraSweet and
many brands of diet soda, is by far the most dangerous. NutraSweet breaks
down into methanol, formic acid and formaldehyde. NutraSweet’s toxicity
mimics autoimmune disorders such as multiple sclerosis, lupus, and chronic
fatigue. There has been an incredible explosion of people diagnosed with
these terrible diseases in recent years. Also, aspartame is a known
neurological excitotoxin which means it has the ability to severely damage
the brain and nervous system.
